Description
Using The Hungry Giant as a mentor text, which they were told orally and read as a picture book, the students were asked to write a narrative text retelling their own version of the story. The teacher engaged in explicit teaching around the narrative text type, particularly sequencing, literary language and conventions and print concepts.
