English Years 2-6 Writing a procedural text

Subject Area: K-10 English
Author: Lauren Giroud

Description

Students were required to write an instructional/procedural text. In order to do this, they were given two options, to write about how to make a particular type of sandwich, or alternatively, how to turn the other five/six teacher ‘Marty’ in to a toad. As part of the assessment, students were required to include particular text features like adverbs and time connectives. Although not always assessed in procedural texts, for this particular task, the teacher told students that they must include accompanying images with their explanations.
